Los Angeles-based American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and cartoonist Pete Holmes cracks me up with his hilarious routine on Conan.
He talks about cabs, phone books, and magic. Mostly magic, and the odd watching habits of adult audiences of magic shows. (Wikipedia)
He observes correctly how grown-ups spoil the fun for themselves by dissecting magic tricks and coming up with ridiculous explanations for how they are done.
Watch the video clip below of Pete’s performance. You’d be glad you did, because, then, you can start the week laughing.
Some comedy authorities have warned us performers against making jokes at the expense of the audience. This time, though, I give you permission to laugh at them. It is all right to laugh at the audience, because, anyway, it’s Pete Holmes who’s telling the jokes.
Stay magical,
Leodini
Ha! Great. I had never heard of him before.
Neither had I.But from a hilarious perspective, he talks about a subject I love—lay people who think they can explain away every magic trick. Pete can deliver punchlines. Apart from being a comedian, he must be also a magician at heart.
Stay magical,
Leodini
Stay magical Pete Holmes and thanks for gracing MY show
